The other day I was thinking about Exquisite Corpses again. It’s seemingly impossible to create your own, since the premise is to combine several unrelated words to create a sentence. The way I understand its original intent, a different person should provide each word in the sentence with no knowledge of the other words involved (in the format of: The adjective noun verbs the adjective noun.. Instead, I used Excel and Random.org (random number and random sequence generating website - been a fan since I used it in college for experiments in my psych classes) to create some Exquisite Corpses for myself. Here’s what I’ve got so far:
-
The uneducated Disciple plays the beautiful Jogger.
-
The ugly Guitar cleans the likeable Kettle.
-
The tropical Foxglove lives the useless Italy.
-
The educated Internet drives the swaying Soap.
-
The imploring Heaven eats the modern Level.
-
The old-fashioned Burma reads the tensest Wool.
-
The unlikeable marsh makes the cold potato.
-
The ambidextrous snowflake nibbles the tormented pipe.
-
The tactful gramophone flies the sturdiest Archer.
-
The warm Tadpole cuts the useful Chronometer.
-
The empty candle runs the erratic screen.
-
The tall mouse slides the gregarious man.
-
The smooth machine hides the hard bottle.
-
The changed phone harasses the colorful plantain.
-
The variable calendar rewinds the noisy tape.
-
The neutered dog hops the gorgeous river.
-
The chaste apple tips the purple can.
-
The terrific stereo examines the interesting tree.
-
The fulfilled building drives the scary dragon.
-
The dull pencil triggers the blunt yarn.
It’s not perfect. Obvioiusly when creating a list of nouns, verbs, and adjectives, by yourself you’re likely to come up with several similar or related words. I actually tried to find some randomly generated words and nouns, but was unhappy with the websites I found. So I generated a few random words, filled in the rest from some I came up with, then randomly ordered the sentences. The best site I came across for random words was this Random Word Generator. Unfortunatly you an only generate one word at a time, though you can sepecify verb, noun, adjective etc. Some of the words could be both nouns and adjectives, I tried to avoid those. Like I said, it’s not perfect, but it was entertaining for a while.
I think 8 & 19 are my favorite. What’s yours?
I’m really bad at this.
If internet wasn’t so restrictive here I’d be better.
I’m hoping to get my own laptop for school soon.
Then I can get a broadband card and surf on my own at work.
Ok - so I hope to be getting a 3G phone by end of Jan early Feb. I need one. I need to be able to get by interwebs fix without fear of Big Brother keeping an eye on me. I’m hoping with the new phone I’ll also be posting more on this blog. I’m paying for the site, I should use it more. When I start posting more, I’ll advertise on myspace, facebook etc and let everyone know where to find the latest about me. Because you know, that’s what this is all about. I’m proud of my Phlome for maintaining the activity on his site. I’ll try and meet his standard after the first of the year. Hey - whatdoyaknow - I just made a new years resolution - heh.
So- yeah - this is my attempt at resurecting my blog.
So what’s new:
I’m going to an allergist next week to find out why my body constantly produces pounds of mucus every day.
My mom has something funky going on with her internal bits, we’ve ruled out gall-bladder (leaving her and I as the only women in our fam who still have ours). Shes’ been vomiting a lot for no apparent reason. We should know more by mid December.
My grandfather has 2 or 3 aneurisms (depending on if you count the large aortic aneurism as 1 or 2 - docs aren’t quite sure). He’s meeting with a surgeon this Wed (before Tday) to find out if they should go ahead and find a way to operate on one of them since it’s growing faster than they’d like.
My youngest cousin is 7 months preganant, and moving in with her bf soon.
I’ve got much more to share, but need to do some actual work sometime today.
I’m sure most everyone has heard some sort of saying implying the things come in threes. Bad news comes in threes. Well have damn well surpassed my 3 a good while back. So I’ve decided that the fates didn’t think 3 people in my family with cancer was enough. It had to be 3 people with lung cancer. Leukemia doesn’t count. I found a little while back that my great uncle (my maternal grandfathers youngest brother) has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Last night I heard the prognoses. 6 months. Maybe a year or 2 with agressive chemotherapy. Any one who has been through or has been close to someone who has gone through chemo can understand why a person might choose to foregoe the treatment. I’m not real sure if he know what he wants to do yet.
Last night my dad informed me that his father also has lung cancer. And it’s metastesized. And he has a bleeding ulcer.
So seriously folks. STOP THE DAMNED SMOKING. And go to the doc once in a while. Don’t wait until the neighbors have to call your son to find out where you’ve been for the past several days.
And on that note…I need a drink.
OK - so due to our resent acquisition, we now all have to have ID badges. Photo ID Badges. So we’re having people submit their photos, and giving them the requirements for the photo. Some try harder than others. Today I started going through some of the submitted pics just to compare them to one that I wasn’t sure would be approved. Evidently not everyone is as meticulous as I am about checking the photos. One I saw of a lady is just completely wrong. It’s all sorts of distorted and blurry. There were more than one that looked suspiciously like mugshots. Though I think that’s just they way those guys photograph. I saw at least one girl who needs a friend to tell her not to where cotton candy pink lipstick. Gonna have to either scrounge up and old pic and hope it works, or just take a new one with the dig. camera at home when I get a chance.
