Work Sucks, even on Fridays

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 4:07 pm

Yes I know, I normally don’t complain on friday’s nearly as much as mondays, but this one is pissing me off. I did get a bit of sympahy of sorts from a co-worker. Well she’s sorta my co-worker, she’s actually in CA, but we interact to a certain degree because she’s accounting out there, and I do the PO’s/Invoices from here.
Here’s the email exhange (the names have been changed to protect the innocent):

Accounting Lady,

When you have a chance, could you show me (if it is possible) how to get a count of the number of POs created for [my office] last year?
And also if you could show me how to get a monthly count as well. It appears that this is something they will be wanting from me on a monthly basis going forward.

Thanks,
Me

~~~~~
Unfortunately no - because [another office] and [ninsi’s office]both use the same system it is impossible to differentiate between the two.
?They? I?m assuming is [MB]? My guess is he is trying to get an idea of the volume you deal with to justify adding another body to [ ninsi’s office] for cutting purchase orders and other duties.
I?ll check with [some guy ninsi doesn’t know] to see if he has an idea but in the meantime you could just keep a piece of paper with hash marks to count them up.
~~~~~~~~
They is actually Quality Control. They’ve decided that issueing purchase orders falls under Contract Review, since the POs have to be approved. So now Quality needs a number to report.
~~~~~~~~
Oh my god??. Quality they drive me crazy!
~~~~~~~~

Maybe I’m the only one who interprets that as sympathy, but really it’s the best i can get around here.
*sigh*

Boring Friday

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 10:41 am

I really don’t have much to say today, but Phlome instested that I blog before he leaves today. Told you guys we broke up. Now he’s leaving town. That’s what he does when he ends relationships, he moves.

Anyway, I dogstered Luna this morning.

Ain’t she a sweety? Excuse her red eyes, but she just cannot be photographed w/ out her eyes appearing red.

Plans this weekend:
Friday - I’m hanging w/ Amy tonight, whatever her plans may be, but I know it will involve me meeting her Seattle friend Laura, which I’m looking forward to, and some rockclimbing guy named Steve, who i hear is very cute. Ahhh, the single life… :-) Saturday - if the weatherman is right it should be sunny and in the 60s, if that turns out to be the case, I’ll probably try to talk Ryan into bringing Mira along w/ Luna and I to the dog park. Otherwise, it’ll just be me and Luna. I can’t handle both dogs on my own. Then Sat. night a friend of a friend is having a party. I’m pretty sure Ryan and Monkey & Donut will be going. I’ll probably skip out on it though. The thought of having the house all to myself is just too tempting. MINE, ALL MINE Muahahahaha.
Of course with me sitting at home on a Sat. night so recently after a break-up people might think I’m hearbroken. Or at least, just no fun w/out Phlome around. But really, that’s not true. I promise. Seriously. I’m tons of fun. And not at all heartbroken. Believe me I tell you. I’m fine. Honost.
Sunday: Phlome should make it home in time for the SuperBowl, but by then Amy and should have made it to see Monster w/ Charlize Theron (I hope). If the movie is over by then we should be out doing other such girley things as shopping or lounging in a cafe and chatting about that girl’s terribly tacky blouse and her insane make-up, and how on earth is she with that Ashton Kutcher look-alike, he must be her brother.

Something more interesting than a rant

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 9:50 am

I know my little rant about the insurance debacle, really isn’t going to hold the interest of most people, so this is for those of you who want something more interesting to read.

This Christmas we should be treated to something quite spectacular…something from our past that we loved dearly…something animated come to life….

The Last Unicorn!!!! live action movie, starring Christopher Lee as King Haggard (he did the voice in the animated version), Mia Farrow as Molly Grue (she did Amalthea’s voice) and Angela Lansbury as Mommy Fortuna (also the original voice from the animated movie). Isn’t it wonderful how time has aged these folks just perfectly to play the roles they performed so well in the movie (my apologies to Mia Farrow for not being able to remain eternally young). Check out the page to see more of the cast. The roles of Amalthea/the Unicorn and Prince Lir have not yet been cast (or announced anyway).

I am so very excited about this. I loved the animated movie, and have had more that one dream about it (even as mentined in a previous post, a dream remeniscent of it.) I can’t remember the first time I saw this movie, but I’ve collected unicorn figurines all my life, no doubt this movie had some influence. Unfortunatly pretty much all of my unicorn figurines are back home in Tulsa.

Some day, when I’m living in a house w/ my very own mortgage, I’d like to have a room specifically decorated/designed for Fantasy. A room where I can display all my Unicorn figurines, as well as my Xanth collection. I’m sure there’d be room for Phlome to display some of his things too.

Anyway, so spread the word. I’m hoping to hear some more about it soon. I have yet to see any advertising here in the US. It is possible that it will be released in the UK/Europe before here, but I hope not. I first heard about this over a year ago. I hope they don’t run out of money. This movie just has soooooo much potential. I can’t wait!
I think it’s a good sign that according to IMDB these folks are working on the film. Also that IMDB actually has a listing for it. :-)

I fucking hate insurance

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 9:01 am

I’m on the phone with my insurance right now. It’s f-ing rediculous. I’m simply trying to get my prescription refilled. Here’s some backstory first:
On 01-01-04 I got new insruance, this insurance supposedly has a HealthFund that I can use to pay for any copays I have. It’s very nice. However, I have yet to see this actually work when it comes to filling a prescription. That’s the first problem. The second problem is partially my own fault. My insurance mentiond that if you order 3 monts of your RX at a time you only have to pay the amount of 2 copays. Unfortunatly what I didn’t realize, was that, it’s only available if you use their online pharmacy. I tried to go through a diff. online pharmacy, and they of course told me i’d have to pay the full amount. So then I decided to go back to the walgreens i usually get my RXs from.
They said the insurance wouldn’t cover it becasue i’ve had a refill too soon.
The refill it says I’ve had was from the online drugstore, that I couldnt’ actually get ther refill through.
Sooooo, I called my insurance, who told me to call another number who told me I have to call the online pharmacy I attempted to use.
I called the online pharmacy, they cleared they’re end up and so I called my insurance back to make sure it’s all clear before I call walgreens.
They’ve got the whole refill thing cleared up, but they’re showing some bizarre contradition in their system that my pharmacy coverage is both independant and in association with my HealthFund.

Updated entry

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 2:06 pm

For those of you who care. I took the DnD test again, as Sephirah. Check out the updated extended entry under my original dnd post.

If you don’t know who Sephirah is, you probably don’t care. By the way, that’s pronounced: Se-fear’-uh with emphasis on the second syllable.

Eavesdropping

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 10:04 am

Thanks to Phlome for reminding me that i do indeed have something to blog about.
Last night while at the racquetball courts I overheard bits and pieces of what could have potentially been a very interresting conversation. But first here is the setting: Phlome and I were returning from a water break, and I overheard something about wives. I had to put my racquetball glove back on, so I sat down on the bench. (Phlome went on in to the court to whack the ball around a bit.) I heard a bit more about wives and daughters, so then I noticed I was having quite a bit of difficulty getting my glove all right side out. So I took my time, didn’t want to damage my new glove or anything. And while I’m sitting there meticulously fixing and donning my glove I witnessed this:
Two gentlemen, of apparent Asian Indian decent were having a very serious discussion about thier wives. Man1: “…I am very impressed with your wife…she is very well mannered…but my wife…she is not so well….and your daughters too. They are not so well mannered, but they are young still, teenagers…I can see them learning…they are still young.” The whole time Man2 is just nodding and agreeing, apparently offering sympathy for his friend and his ill-mannered wife. There were lots of gaps in what Man1 was saying because he was talking in a bit of a low voice, so I’m not entirely sure that he has an ill-mannered wife, but that’s the impresion I got.

So that’s last nights blog-worthy event.

Oh yeah, and for some strange reason, balls started flying at me at an accelerated rate last night.
Instance 1: after just over an hour of racqetballing, phlome hit the ball smack dab into my right wrist (it stung a bit, but no bruising, though I think the nerves where dulled for a few min. immediatly afterwards I couldn’t lift my racquet. that cleared up quickly though)
So we decided it was time to head on out.
We sat down on the benches near the basketball court as we layered ourselves w/ additional clothing since it was rather chilly out last night:
Instance 2: Two boys attempting to shoot baskets near our bench, missed horribly and nearly hit me with it, Phlome suggested that I “watch out” and I dodged a bit, managing to miss being thumped in the head w/ a basketball
Instance 3: Same two boys continue to shoot baskets poorly, again nearly hit me in the head. Phlome saved me from a certain concussion by swatting the ball away. We went home then.

Lawful Good Elf Mage Bard

I Am A: Lawful Good Elf Mage Bard

Alignment:
Lawful Good characters are the epitome of all that is just and good. They believe in order and governments that work for the benefit of all, and generally do not mind doing direct work to further their beliefs.

Race:
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.

Primary Class:
Mages harness the magical energies for their own use. Spells, spell books, and long hours in the library are their loves. While often not physically strong, their mental talents can make up for this.

Secondary Class:
Bards are the entertainers. They sing, dance, and play instruments to make other people happy, and, frequently, make money. They also tend to dabble in magic a bit.

Deity:
Mystra is the Neutral Good goddess of magic. She is also known as the Lady of Mysteries. Followers of Mystra wear armor and carry shields with her symbol on them. Mystra’s symbol is a ring of stars.

Chain letters

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 3:09 pm

Don’t you just love those letters that threaten death if you don’t send them on? Yeah, me too. Well, I found this one on friendster. It just made me laugh.
So I thought I’d share the fun with you. If you have a weak heart, or are easily freaked out (moreso than me), you might not want to read it. Cuz after all, if you do read it, and don’t pass it on, you’ll die. At least that’s what the letter says.
I think it’s maybe trying to play off of the Ring/Ringu popularity.
So I’ve given you the option. If you like, you can follow the “Continue reading…” link, or you can just skip it.
either way i think i’m covered, since i’m sending it out over the web. ;-) not that i belive in that sort of thing, or anything…

Tuesday morning fun

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 10:17 am

This morning I got to go to the doc to get some blood taken for lab work. It was one of those things he told me to do anytime, you don’t need an appointment. Well the catch is, you have to fast for 12 hours prior, nothing but water. I was gonna go yesterday but i got too hungry and had to eat breakfast.
So instead they drained me today. It was really quick. One puncture 4 viles, and I was free to go. So when I got to work I promptly ate some oatmeal. I may get some more, I’m still hungry.

Saw something fun on the way to work today. I’m not entirely sure how it happened, but somhow a car ended up beneath a semi. It must have just happened, because as i got down the road I saw the firetruck and ambulence arriving. It kinda looked like the semi tried to pull out of the parking lot, making a wide right turn (as they do) and then the car decided to go straight, or something, it’s really hard to tell. I’d draw a diagram, but I’m not that artistic, and I doubt you care that much.
Didn’t look like anyone was hurt though. The car’s widshield was pretty well smashed in, but the huge chunk of metal hanging off of the semi, did not appear to have actually gone through the windshield. And I saw a few people standing on the curb, the car looked empty, no one was frantically trying to get anyone out of the car.

And if that wasn’t enough fun, this site has some very amusing pics. Many of which I have seen before, but a few new ones. Oh, and I already told Jessy about the Dragon Caution sign.
