New Digs

Sooo, any opinions yet?

Of course there’s really nothing much on the main page now, but there will be…

Spidey Day

I can’t believe I didn’t get any comments on this statement:

“In the land of the geek, the once laid man is king.”

Oh well. Some of you may have noticed that last night my webpage got just a bit funky. I’m feeling inspired to do something different. It’s been slow at work today, so I may work on it some more. I’m thinking I want something more than just a blog. Of course I’ve been saying this for a while now, so I may be just a tad bit overly ambitious.

Tonight the dallas crew is going to see Spiderman 2 and the Addison Studio Movie Grill. Yay!
I’m sure it’ll be a geek fest - they’re having a special showing hosted by some people who like to give free stuff away. I’m all for that. Free stuff rocks, even if it is spiderman themed free-stuff.

So keep your eyes open for possible changes, and if you see anything you like/don’t like, let me know.

It’s still raining, btw. As one of my co-workers so eloquently put it: “Welcome to Seattle”

Here’s a peek at our weather forecast:

In the land of the geek, the once laid man is king.

Is this supposed to be a profound statement?

?The human beings who participated in the earliest domestic relationships [with dogs] thousands of years ago are all dead,? says zooarchaeologist Darcy F. Morey with refreshing candor. ?They cannot tell us what was in their minds or what they sought to accomplish.?

Porn is saved….for now.

Shades of gray.

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 9:56 am

Gray or grey? I like grey. Anwyay, more rain in big D, and more expected. Though weather.com does say that by friday it will be only partly cloudy….
I’m sick and tired of all this greyness and rain. I want to see the sun for more than an hour a day!

No one’s in the office today, it’s really quiet. So I’m really not at all motivated to do any work. In fact I’m planning a long lunch and a short day.

I need to get my hair trimmed, and I need a pedicure and a manicure. But I don’t want them to cut my cuticles!

This is going to be a busy week. Tonight Nip/Tuck, laundry, and finish up the room, Wed. Spidey 2 (probably still finishing the room), Thurs. Zero’s b-day dinner at the Bavarian, Friday Zero’s b-day party, Sat up to OK and monday back home w/ quality family time for both phlome and me. We will be of course returning w/ Phlome’s daugher (aka the squid). sometime in there we will probably do something w/ small explosives to celebrate our nation’s independence and stuff. (Patriot act be damned!)

Anyway, as you can see, not much to share today. Maybe something will come up later.

When even the menu says crap

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 3:05 pm

Picking out restaurants for a corporate event, and looked at the menu at this place:
ShoreLine Grill
Check out the entrees for dinner. Specifically the 2nd one down.

Not yet.

I’m not quite ready for the full weekend update, but here’s a brief overview:
Friday night, went to a special private party at the Lizard Lounge, and were unfortunatly dressed inappropriately for the crowd, after some champagne and wandering around we went to 7, at the LL doorman’s suggestion. Unfortunatly the 7 crowd was at 1 for a diff. private party. 1 is renowned for it’s ‘alternative lifestyle’ clientel (it’s a gay club). Hung out in the communal bathrooms a lot - that’s where everyone else was anyway. Had fun, and entirely too much to drink. Spent ALL DAY Sat. recovering. While I first woke at about 11 am and showered around 1, I was not able to remain verticle for long until after about 5 pm. Sat night was poker night, I enjoyed Velvet Goldmine, while bunny and monkey suffered through it. The boys played poker entirely too late. At about 4am I woke from the couch, and went to bed - they were still playing. I think the poker ended around 5 am. Phlomehad a bit much too drink (not nearly as much as myself the night before), and spent Sat. morning recovering w/ a little help from taco bell and Dr. Pepper.

I’ll leave any other details to phlome, or maybe i’ll add more later.

But for now, I’m gonna steel a bit of Bunny’s thunder. She’s very proud of her 40+ comments and new readership thanks to her Carolina Feeshermen. (was it north or south?). We’ll I have a cult like readership on my Chain Letters post (which I’ve mentioned before.) As of today I have 84 fucking comments! on that post alone! And except for the first few, it’s all people I don’t know. Go. Now. Read the insanity.

Ok, since last week we discussed Aussie Hotties, this week I’ve got a new set of geographical hotties. This of course is inspired by Velvet Goldmine: The Brits
Christian Bale - but not in Velvet Goldmine, I prefer his Equilibrium look, and I think I will much enjoy him as batman. As long as he uses his fake american accent, he sounds like such a ‘poofter’ w/ his real british accent. I think he may have the most beautiful mouth in the world. His upper lip is just soooooooo delicate and perfectly shaped. If I were a gay man….well I won’t go there.
Ewen McGreggor - is he really scottish? well maybe we’ll go with british isles. very yummy in VG. And the full frontal…wow. He doesn’t have a whole lot, but as I discussed w/ bunny, perhaps he’s a grower not a show-er. But I’ll have to share a little fetish of mine to really understand why i thought the full frontal was so yummy. There’s a part on a man’s body (woman’s too technically) in the front, right where the hips become the thighs. those little indentations where you see the hipbone and the muscle folding down into the thighs. I LOVE that part of a man’s body. And OMG it looked sooooo good on Ewan in VG. (i am not a freak).
Jonathon Rhys-Meyers played the BrianSlade/Maxwell Demon (david bowie) role. beautiful in glam-rock makeup. OK w/ out.
Hugh Grant is not a hottie, cute and quirky but not a hottie.
I of course have a whole list of other british hotties, who are unfortualy blocked from my mind right now as I’m distracted by Bale’s lips and McGreggor’s hips. OMG I think I may be conjuring the sexxiest gay male porn movie in my mind right now….I better get back to work before I cause a scene.

***Jonathon Rhys-Meyers not Rhyes-Davies - huge difference there…my bad.

Communication issues?

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 10:26 am

This morning Phlome’s phone rang at an ungodly hour, he didn’t hear it, and I assumed it was his cell phone battery dying. After checking his phone the following conversation ensued:

Phlome: Did you hear my phone ring?
Ninsi: Didn’t hear it ring, just heard it making noises, thought your battery was dead.

Ninsi: Who was it?
Phlome: L

Ninsi: Did L leave a voicemail?
Phlome: Yes.
Ninsi: Did you check it?
Phlome: Yeah.
Ninsi: What did she say?
Phlome: She’s been busy and will call back.

Ok - so maybe it doesn’t seem so annoying now. But seriously, why did I have to ask each and everyone of those questions? I don’t think my frustration is coming across in the written word.

It’s like asking someone if they know what time it is, and they simply respond with “Yes.” Not actually giving you the time. Obviously when you ask someone if they know the time, it’s because you want to know what time it is, it shouldnt’ have to be spelled out. Just like if I ask if so and so left a voicemail I’m obviously curious as to what her message was. And it’s not like it was a private call, Phlome and I have been trying to get a hold of this mutual friend all week, and this is the first we’ve heard back from her. And I wasn’t being nosey either. A phone call recieved at an ungodly hour deserves some concern.

I think she chose to call at such an hour so she wouldn’t have to talk to us. It’s one of Phlome’s old techniques. Call when you know she won’t answer so you can say you called w/ out having to actually talk to her.

***VALIDATION***

HA! Yesterday I posted on Neko’s blog that I heard on the radio about a study, saying that if you stop smoking by 35, you might as well have never smoked at all (health-risk wise). And I found the article about it on MSN today. So here it is.

***Can of Corn Clarification***

One day g-ma was making lunch. She’s busy working away, and and g-pa walks through the kitchen. gma sets out a saucepan, and asks gpa if he can get the corn for her. gpa goes to the cabinet, gets the can of corn sets in on the counter, walks off to watch tv.
I gasped. To me it was obvious that she was asking him to get the corn down and put it in the pan. (this would also involve opening the can).
When I told phlome the story he laughed. After all, all she asked was for him to get the can.
*sigh*

Blog Ring Name Discussion

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 11:21 am

I started a new topic under General in Zero’s forum’s to discuss our potential future ring name.

I also told the little story I alluded to in FJ’s blog.

Remember folks, be carefull what you ask for. I complained about a slow week, and today I’m very busy.

At 1 I go to the OBGYN to discuss alternate forms of birthcontrol: Depo and OrthoEvra. Wish me luck. :-)

I hate slow work days

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 2:30 pm

No much really going on here today, and nothing I really need to do until tomorrow or friday (sending out reminder announcments, sending them too soon makes them pointless and annoying).
I just want this week to be over. I don’t hate it here by any means. I’m just bored, and would rather it be the weekend. It’s nice to not hate work, but it would be nicer to not work!
If I knew who that person was in El Paso who won teh $145mill (or whatever it was) - I would so be making indecent proposals for a few mill. I don’t need $145, just a couple mill to get started on, make a few safe investments (CDs perhaps - which I know nothing about but people always talk about investing in them). Pay of my debt, and find a fun low paying job to bring in a little income. Maybe just work at a temp agency, working now and then for a few weeks at a time. And just live comfortably (not extravegantly) and have fun. You know, it’s not all that easy to get a job at a bookstore? I’ve tried a few times, and they never have job openings. Hmmm, maybe claires or the icing. I love cheap flashy jewerly, it’s fun! Of course there’s always hot topic. These would all be places I would love to work, if money wasn’t an issue.

Good news is I have an excuse to leave early again today, I’m going by the post office in the way home to mail a couple of packages for work. They’re small (discs) so it’s more cost efficient to mail them USPS rather than UPS.

I really do like my job. I’m sitting here thinking, and I could handle this job for a while. Some responsibility, but not so much that it burdon’s me, lots of appreciation. Gawd! it’s amazing how much nicer it is to work at a place where you recieve sincere appreciation, as opposed to just being expected to do stuff, cuz it’s your job. I feel silly sometimes when peopel over thank me, and I’m like, but that’s what I’m here for. And is it proper to thank people for appreciation? One time the MD thanked me for putting together a corporate event and said I did a great job, I responded w/ thank you. Is that the right way to handle it? Seemed the right thing to say at the time, but it seems silly to thank some one for thanking you.
Well I do have a little annoying task to finish up, won’t take me too long, but when it’s done I can feel less guilty about lengthy blogging…

Oh but before I do, as a continuation of the Aussie Hottie discussion from the comments in the previous post. I’m coming up short on Aussie actors, but here’s by list in order of hotness:

Heath Ledger
Guy Pearce (Memento)
Julian McMahon
Orlando Bloom

Mel Gibson is too old and no longer hot enough for the list.

I know I’m missing some (and I’m only including ‘famous’ actors, as in most people will have some clue who they are)

Memories…..

Last night Phlome found some old postcards I sent him from the christmas I spent in Tokyo w/ my dad, it was my sophomore year of college.
The first one I sent en route to Japan, from Chicago O’hare. It’s pretty inocuous. Here it is you can read it yourself and have a little glimpse into then, from the perspective of now.
The next one, seems to have a bit of a sarcastic tone to it. See for yourself. I wonder what I was really trying to say there…

If you’re a new reader, you may want to go back and read the love story.
