MondayTuesday

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 9:06 am

I have to keep reminding myself that today is Tuesday. It doesn’t help that my Monday night class has been moved to Tuesday this week to make up for the holiday.
There are no holidays in an accelerated MBA program. If there are, you have to make them up.
We have one more class after tonight, before the final. I can’t wait til it’s over, but I’m really not sure if I’ve grasped it all. I don’t know if I will. I do know that I’ve really got to get to memorizing some formulas.
Then I have until July 5th, before my next class starts. Whoo hoo. Most of that time will be spent vacationing. :-)
Oh, BTW, the vacation plans have been chisled down to Albuquerque - Grand Canyon - Carlsbad. With a possible pit stop in Roswell, only because it’s on the way.

An awefull lot happened this weekend, which is probably why it seems to have flown by.

Friday I cleaned house, then we did some shopping before people came over for the Friday night poker fun.

Saturday we drove around GP and Dallas checking out other parks, and found a winery before the rain started in on us (w/ the top down no less). Then over to Zero’s for the cook-out and drinking - then out to a friends b-day party at a strip club, where I promised Donut I would find him a Gothic stripper/escort by his birthday in December.

Sunday I slept in, recovering from the rather mean, Green Meanies (and lemon drop, and vodka sour, and vodka tonic…). I don’t remember what all else we did on Sunday, but then we went out to the Church, where I really should have started drinking earlier. We met a lot of people we hope to see again this weekend at Anime-Kon.

Monday I was really lazy, did some school work, then got restless and made Phlome take me to Hollywood video in search of Velvet Goldmine (we had a gift card). They only had it for sale on VHS. Yes, VHS. Hollywood video seems to carry as much VHS as they do DVD. Stupid hollywood video.

The Man Who Was Thursday

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 11:03 am

Thursdays before a long weekend are almost as quiet as Fridays before long weekends.

Nothin much to share. Phlome gained world domination last night. I blame my crappy placement. Random placement put most of my troops in Europe. Europe is a bitch of a place to start from. He had Africa and South America, which were the only other two places I had troops.

I know you all really care about our lover’s quarrel over world domination.

Sorry I really don’t have much else to share.

Mira go out of the back yard again at some point this morning. Sometime after 5am, when I finally decided to let her out after she pestered me for an hour, panting in my face, and walking around the room making me nervous cause I could hear her trying to get into stuff. Our house is so not Mira proof.
We had already blocked off her usualy escape routes, but she decided to dig a new one. Most of the fence is rather Mira proof. But she found the one spot that wasn’t. I’m not sure if the 4 am wake up is better than the 2 am wake up or not. She varies in the time she decides to wake me up. And she pesters me, because Luna sleeps on the floor by the bed on Phlome’s side, and Mira won’t go to that side. I’m a bit of a light sleeper. I can sleep through normal sounds prety well (storms, car sounds), but when there is an unusual sound, it wakes me up. A dog panting in your face is not normal night time noise. Luna will nudge us, and if we don’t get up, she just settles back down to go to sleep. Mira woke Luna up. Luna put her front paws on the bed, realized Phlome wasnt’ goign to do anything, then just layed back down. Mira kept pestering, until I finally decided I wasn’t going to get back to sleep until I put her out.

When I told my mom the story (not this one, the one about the last timeshe did the same thing). My mom said, “maybe you shouldnt’ have children.” Ha! She’s finally catching on!

Everything I know about RISK I learned from Eddie

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 11:46 am

Sunday night Phlome and I played RISK (on the PS2).

I used Eddies Advice:

“Hitler never played Risk when he was a kid. Cause, you know, playing Risk, you could never hold on to Asia. That Asian-Eastern European area, you could never hold it, could you? Seven extra men at the beginning of every go, but you couldn’t fucking hold it. Australasia, that was the one. Australasia. All the purples.”

I keeeeeled him, and all the other computer players too. Why? Because I started with Australasia. Tore through Asia, then built up my Eastern Bloc (Rock!). **my apologies for the cross-transvestite/transexual reference**
And with two continents and my risk cards, I ripped up North America, Europe and the Middle East then down to South America, and finished in Africa.

I would just like to thank Eddie for everything I ever needed to know about playing RISK. :-)

Wedding Head takes over

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 3:04 pm

Alrighty folks, we’re making some progress.

Wedding dress (check)
Wedding Rings (check)
The 2nd row down 1st ring on the row shown here is what mine will look like, only a slightly smaller gauge.
Click on the pic, and you’ll see the larger gauge, which is what Phlome’s will look like, only in all white gold.
Wedding location (almost check) - Park near our house
Reception location/back up wedding location (check) Ruthe Jackson Center in Grand Prairie.

Things I’m working on now:

Finalizing my colors - some shade of purple, right now I’m looking at (R83, G1, B126 = H186, S236, L60 = 53017E)

Wedding Cakes:
I’ll probably end up going through albertson’s cuz it’s cheaper that way, but this place has some great ones: WeddingCakesDallas
Enter the site, then click on cake gallery. Next to the picture of the cake on the far right click NEXT. Keep on going through to see them all. The one’s I liked are:
SB13
SB11
SB30
DB55A (lower 3 tiers only)
PB39
But here’s the fun bit. Now click on GROOM.
Then click on BY QUOTE ONLY.
Yeah.
But seriously. Click on BACK next to the picture, and you’ll see one Phlome really likes.

Bridal Party:
My 3 cousins on my side
Phlome’s still finalizing his.

I’ve pretty much got in my head how things are going to go.

Time frame something like this:
4pm - 5pm - Ceremony
5pm - 6pm - Photography and Arrive at Reception site
6pm - 7:30 - Dinner/Drinks/toasts
7:30 - 8:30 - Cut/serve/eat cake
8:30 -??? Dancing/bouquet-garter toss/general celbration

Unless the weather is bad, then everything gets pushed back an hour and is held at the reception site.

Eventually I need to start thinking about shoes, brides maid dresses, tuxes, ushers, flowers, decorations, invitations…it just keeps going.

Good Morning Star Wars

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 9:00 am

Geek, Geek Groupie, or anti-Geek, this is just funny:

Good Morning Star Wars

No I didn’t go see it yet. School keeps getting in the way. But I think we’ll try this weekend sometime.

So no one tell me anything - I’ve already heard enough on the radios this morning. Something about lots of limbs hanging around before the ultimate transformation.
That’s already too much.

WhirlyBall

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 10:32 am

I think Bunny mentioned that she did this with her company a few weeks back.

So we had our whirlyball fun last night. I now feel like I have been thoroughly beaten up. My neck/shoulders are sore. My right pelvic bone feels bruised, and I have a rather large bruise on the inside of my left thigh, just above my knee.

It was grea fun. I promise.

If we can round up 10 people, we should go play some time.

And I agree, Bunny, more people should comment on trannie posts.

June 10th for Hedwig is tentative. The June 11 midnight show is also an option. We need a vote.

Thanks Demi!

Hedwig is coming back to the Ridglea!

Who’s going w/ me opening night?
June 10th
My final is the following Monday, and then we’ll be on the road for much of the following two weeks, so really that Friday’s about the best time for me to go. Phlome will probably get out of it, since he’ll be going up to OK to get the squid for her summer visit with us.
Since Demi told me about it, he has come come with me.
Monkey’s almost as big a fan as I am, so hopefully he’s join. Maybe since Bunny didn’t quite “get” the first live performance (it’s a lot easier to follow after you’ve seen the movie version) - maybe she’ll come again.

If I sit in the car wash seat again, does that make me obsessive? Or should I share the experience with an unsuspecting victim?

And here’s a Quiz from Bunny:

You scored as Existentialist. Existentialism emphasizes human capability. There is no greater power interfering with life and thus it is up to us to make things happen. Sometimes considered a negative and depressing world view, your optimism towards human accomplishment is immense. Mankind is condemned to be free and must accept the responsibility.

Free Frosty Friday

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 10:39 am

Participating Wendy’s are giving away free Jr. Frosty’s all weekend long!
You just have to ask for the free Jr. Frosty.

Also Greenday is coming to Dallas - tickets go on sale Saturday. They’re playing at American Airlines.

Anyone want to go? I kinda want to go.

Mickey Rourke
Mickey Rooney
Andy Rooney

Anybody else do this on a regular basis? When anyone says Mickey Rourke, I imagine Mickey Rooney, but the name Andy Rooney comes to mind.

Just last night I was babbeling on (I say babbeling because I was completely exhausted from homework, and was literally babbeling and rambling almost nonsensically) about Once Upon A Time in Mexico, and how Johnny Depp makes that movie. Antonio is pointless, he didn’t need to be in it at all. As I side note I said Mickey Rourke is in it to. He was in Sin City. (then I stopped because it sounded rather random, but the rest of my thought was, “and so was that guy who played “the Matador” in the series “Tilt,” who kinda looks like Mickey Rourke, but not the way Mickey Rourke looked as Marv…”)

Then Phlome said. “Whenever I think of Mickey Rourke, I think of Andy Rooney.”

“Me, too, ” I replied, “I wonder why that is.”
“I wonder if anyone else does? I’ll blog about it tomorrow”

Phlome: “It’ll probably get the same response as your pronouns post.”

Ninsi: “Yeah.”

And kiddies, that’s the type of conversations grown-ups have in bed.
