I swear I blogged something yesterday. Of course I have no memory of what it was I would have blogged about, but I really thought I had something else besides my Short Round entry.
I’ve got a busy day ahead of me, so I’ll keep this brief too.
At work I’ve got reports to update, and graphs to add to powerpoints all in preparation for The Invasion of The Big Wigs, all next week.
Then I ‘ve also got to clean and re-arrange one of our meeting rooms.
And order food for monday.
Once I get home, I have to finish homework that is due tonight, clean house, and hopefully try to make it out to Elina’s Hubby’s b-day party, if not to the GoBos, at least to the after concert dinner/drinks.
Oh yeah, I also have to make pies. But I can do that while cleaning.
Then tomorrow final cleaning along with minor decorating.
Then comes our X-mas in July party.
Hey, if anyone knows where I can find mistletoe in July, let me know! (or any other xmas decor, that doens’t involve me driving too far).

I think I’ve come to realize that despite my best efforts, I am a drama queen. I do a good job of hiding it by maintaining predominatly male friends of the drama-less variety. However, as of late, I’ve found myslef socializing with more female friends. And I’m not saying they create drama - I just find myself terribly engrossed in potential drama, and have even discovered a slight desire to create some myself. I blame estrogen and the internet.

In case you are completely clueless I’m talking about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It does not disappoint. (Unless of course you’re going to see a remake of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory). But I will concur with the one disappointment I have heard mention frequently. Burton desides to over-explain Wonka. I never wondered why Wonka was weird - he just was. Burton tries to blame it on his masochistic Dentist of a father. I could have done with out that.
It does explain the purple rubber gloves a bit though.
I wouldn’t mind some purple rubber gloves myself.
But I will always enjoy Wilder’s Wonka as well. Wilder’s Wonka was a slightly more mature, quirky crazy, but good deep down inside Wonka. Depp’s Wonka is more peter pan-esque - the boy who never grew up - slightly more malicious, not quite sure if he IS good deep down inside or not. But I do love how he despises parents, but can’t quite get himself to relate to real children either. He’s in an odd limbo of man-child with no one to relate to but the wonderfully “improvisational” Oompa Loompas. Deep Roy, who plays the Oompa Loompas, almost steals the show. Far more so than the scary orange midgets of Wilder’s Wonka’s.
And the lyrics to the Oompa Loompa songs are Roald Dahl’s this time. Danny Elfman does a SUPERB - wonderfully fun job of putting his poetry to music. I really wanted to dance along with them.
And while I still enjoy the “oompa loompa doobidy doo” of WWatCF, I can really rock out with Bollywood/Disco/etc. songs of CatCF.
I really can’t say enough. I love the movie. I love Depp. And I’m quite sure somewhere ther is a bad double entendre involving Depp and his Willy Wonka.
I still need to work on it some though…
Vegitarian Friendly Meat?
So, I wonder if laboratory grown meat with omega-3 fatty acids instead of the less desirable omega-6 fatty acids would still taste like the meat it is supposed to be.
As a vegan could you eat this meat? How far removed from real meat does it have to be? Obviously the grown meat must start from somewhere, I’m assuming real meat cells. So if I grow a sheet of Mahi Mahi from 1 fish flesh cell, then another sheet from a cell from the first sheet, and another from a cell from that sheet (or even the first sheet), I’m no longer harming any animal that once lived. So then if I were a vegan, can I eat the layerd flesh of this mahi mahi? Or maybe I should replace mahi mahi with cow. I’m thinking this is a great breakthough. But I still have my doubts as to the accuracy of the taste. I mean sure, it’s made up of the same dna and cells blah blah blah, but without the actual blood and oxygen being cycled through the flesh and with out the nutrients from actual foods as opposed to synthesized nutrients (I’m making the details up here btw), and without actual physical activity stimulate with this muscle flesh, I’m betting there will be a taste difference. I bet a synthetic burger tastes more like a McD’s burger than a good Steakhouse/restaurant burger. Will this drive the price up of Natural Meat? Will meat that comes from real animals become the next Organic?
I see it as very promising for feeding the population. But I also see it as a potential decline in the quality of the taste of food we’ll be eating. It’s one thing to get all the nutrients you need from your food. It’s something else entirely to be able to enjoy it while consuming those nutrients.
Oh, and BTW I had a nice rant formed in my head about blaming terrorism on Islam, while not taking a closer look at the terroriest like activities inspired by Christian sects, but I got too frustrated and couldn’t put all my thoughts in words appropriatly. But it’s still really bothering me.

I don’t think anyone who regularly reads this knows who Sarah Marsh is (except Phlome of course). But she is the person who introduced us. Because of that, I wish to invite her to our wedding. Unfortunatly I have completely lost track of her. Last time I saw her, she was living in Norman, OK with her fiance. He was working towards his degree in Computer Science, I think. That was in 1999.
So if all you okies can do me a favor and post a little something, maybe check the white pages? No I don’t know her married name. I don’t really know if she and he ever married (when we were roomates briefly the summer of 1997 she was engaged to someone else entirely).
She’s 28, originally from Little Rock Arkansas. Dark brown hair, fair skin. She attended the University of Tulsa for a few year, but I don’t think she completed her degree. She may have finished up at OU.
