I’m sure most everyone here has at least heard of the movie Party Monster, staring Seth Green and Macauly Caulkin as James St. James and Michael Alig the notorious club kids/celebutaunts.
The movie was based on a book: Disco Bloodbath. After the move the book was rereleased under the title Party Monster. Now the book under the title Disco Bloodbath is near impossible to find. Well that’s not true. I’ve found 5 copies online. 4 Hardback one paperback. The paperback is on ebay for $192.29, the hardback is being bid on at $299.99, with a buy it now price of $515. Two other are available in the UK at about 200 pounds, and one at bibliophile.net for $815.90.
So here’s the moral dilemma. I’ve found one other copy. I saw it with my very own eyes, was afraid to even touch it. I just walked away in disbelief. Now I regret not picking it up. The problem is, it’s not for sale. But maybe I could just borrow it. I’m unsure if the “owner” is aware of it’s percieved value. Admitedly to the general public the value is no where near the price it’s going for online. However, to a select few it is.
So, I’m wondering if I “borrowed” it, then told the “owner” that my dog ate it. Would that be wrong?
What if the “owner” was a public library?
Am I a spoiled brat for making my own bday plans then making my husband do the actual arranging so that it seems like I’m not actually planning my own bday party?
If I count correctly, and I’ve been known to do so on occassion, we have 9 more shopping days til xmas. I have 90% of my shopping done. The remaining 10% is a little something for mom and a little something for my hubby. Plus I need to get something for my sister-in-law and my new nephews - but those are a we shopping not a me shopping. Maybe I’m closer to only 80% done…
After xmas, we have new years, which we already have locked in - a wilde and crazy nigh at The Church aka Club Spooky aka Goth night at Lizard Lounge. I may have to find an excuse to wear my tiara - just got to hope I don’t lose it.
We still need to decide what we plan to do with the dogs this year. The trip to OK last time was a near catastrophe involving broken dog stakes and a couple near knock down drag out dog fights. They do well at my mom’s in T-town, but we will be in Mc-ville for 2 nights before we head up north.
Our dogs require near constant human attention - else they begin to destroy things…like our couch, shoes, kleenexbox, hot tub cover or our general backyard area.

In other news it’s a beautiful balmy 70* today. Love it. Today for lunch I wento B&N and bought a True Crime novel. Then drove down to La Madeleine where I got a Wilde Field Salad w/ chicken and dined outside. It was beautiful. Lunch at 2:00 in the afternoon is far more pleasant than at noon - it’s quiet, and no crowds to deal with. I think I’ll start eating late breakfasts and lunches from now on…
Lovely day…

Body Worlds is coming to Dallas this weekend. Just in time for the holiday chaos. Fortunatly it’ll be here in Dallas until sometime in May.
You can get more info about the Dallas exibit here.
I imagine we’ll go sometime after the first of the year. Mid to late January I’m hoping.
This is a bit random and a thought I’ve had on more than one occasion but never when a blog was handy. I don’t like U2. Really. I don’t get what all the hype is about U2. They win awards all the time, but in my personal opinion, U2 is the most overated band ever. Seriously.
And Bono needs to get over himself.
Seriously.
