I saw the movie some time ago when it first came ot on video.  Today it’s on WE.  I didn’t remember Jeffrey Rush being in it.  And was surprised to see that th eactor who played Dr. Who and the Invisible Homeless guy in Heros is in it as well.  His nose is entirely too big, yet he is still quote attractive - maybe it’s his eyes?  Or the bald head - or something about the shape of his head, like the whole Patrick Stewart thing.

OK.  So some of you have heard about this, but not everyone.  Here it is:

About 3 weeks ago my grandfather went to the dr.’s office to have some fluid drained off his heart.  He also had a sleep study since he had complained of being constantly tired.  The sleep study confirmed Sleep Apnea.

Sometime during the process of either inserting the catheter in his heart or during the exams around then, they discoverd an aortic aneurism.  At that time, the docs thought that operating/reparing it would be too dangerous.  They sent him home and made an appointment for him to come back for a CT Scan when he got his catheter removed from his heart.  Four years ago his older brother died w/ in 2 months of finding an inoperable aneurysm in his aorta.  This is my grandfathers 2nd aneurysm, the first one was repaired.

Last week they did the CT Scan, in the process they found a spot on his lung.  Next Monday, he goes in for a laproscopic biopsy of his lung to determine exactly what it is.   His father died from lung cancer before I was born.

Last week my dad sent an email to me and his brother.  My dad had gone to the doctor over in London about a lump on his neck.  The doc had him med-evac’d to the US with an initial diagnosis of Non-Hodkins Lymphoma.  MD Anderson did further tests and determined at the end of last week that he actually has Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.  He started treatment down in Houston today.

In other news, Tuesday I finished my last final for my MBA.  I’m done with school.  I just really can’t get excited about it.

Why, Bueno, why?

Filed under: Uncategorized — ninsianna @ 10:32 pm

I have always had big love for Taco Bueno.  But today Bueno sadened me.  For some reason the lady on the other end of the drive-thru speaker could not translate my request for a Taco w/ no lettuce or tomato and a regular burrito.  It went something like this:

me “taco with now tomato or lettuce, and a burrito”

her “taco?”

me “And a burrito”

her “A taco with no tomato”

me “and no lettuce”

her “a taco with no tomato and no lettuce”

me “yes”

silence

me “and a bean burrito”

her “a taco with no lettuce and no tomato and a bean burrito”

me “yes, and a small coke”

silence…

me “and that’s all”

her “ok you can drive around now”

I can’t actually drive around because there is an SUV in front of me.  Then some guy comes on the speaker “I can take your order when you’re ready”

I just ignored it and waited for the cars to move so I could pull forward.  After paying and getting my change, I was handed a sack with my burrito and taco.   And the guy looked at me and said thank you. I informed him that I also had a small coke.  So he handed me the huge cup of coke next to him.

“I had a small coke”

 he nodded.

“A small.”

he smiled

“Is this a small coke?”

He shrugged his shoulders.  I took the huge cup, it was coke, so I drove off.

One think I alwasy liked about Bueno, was that when I got my taco w/ just meat and cheese, they’d fill it to the top w/ meat and cheese.  This taco was only half full - just like Taco Bell does it…bastards.

And the burrito tortilla has a rubbery like texture.  I noticed this last time I was at bueno.

So disappointing.

Under Construction

I’m rather out of it for the next month.  Last week I had new hire training, this month I have a 2 week class I’m entertaining during the week (and this weekend).  They’re leaving next Friday.  The following Sunday I have a term paper due, another one the next week.  I have a business meeting in Tampa on the 17th and 18th. Then I have two finals to take the week of the 23rd (1 on the 23rd in class from 6 - 9pm, the other is online and has to be completed before April 29th).  April 30th I have another class in town for a week, immediatly followed by new hire again May 9 - 11.  So, while I will be completely done with school in 24 days (at the latest), work won’t slow down until may 12th.  That’s assuming we don’t double up the number of new hire training sessions we conduct, or take on any other major tasks in my department before then. So, basically what I am saying, is that I won’t be posting much for the next 4 - 6 weeks.
